Rules for everyone
Use accurate account information, communicate respectfully, follow the law, protect personal data, and do not misuse the platform.
- No harassment, threats, hate speech, discrimination, stalking, assault, sexual misconduct, fraud, spam, or impersonation.
- No illegal goods, weapons misuse, stolen property, drug dealing, or activities that create safety risks.
- Do not record, publish, or share another user's personal data without a lawful reason and consent where required.
Rider rules
Riders are responsible for accurate pickup and drop-off information, timely arrival at pickup, respectful conduct, and payment of valid charges.
- Check the vehicle and plate before entering.
- Wear seatbelts where required and supervise children or vulnerable passengers.
- Do not damage the vehicle, distract the driver, smoke or vape where prohibited, or request unsafe stops.
- Pay cancellation, cleaning, damage, toll, parking, or adjustment charges where valid and disclosed.
Driver rules
Drivers must maintain approval and comply with all licensing, insurance, vehicle, safety, tax, and platform requirements.
- Only use the approved account and approved vehicle.
- Keep the vehicle roadworthy, clean, insured, and legally compliant.
- Do not accept street hails through MyLyft.
- Do not drive while tired, distracted, impaired, unlicensed, uninsured, or otherwise unsafe.
- Use the app safely and stop in a lawful place before reading or sending messages.
- Respect rider privacy and do not contact riders after a trip except through approved support channels.
Account enforcement
MyLyft may warn, restrict, suspend, deactivate, or permanently close accounts where rules are breached or safety, fraud, payment, licensing, or legal risks are identified.
Appeals
Users can contact support@mylyft.co.uk to ask for a review of an account restriction. Serious safety, fraud, legal, or licensing restrictions may remain in place during review.
